Here's a sneak peak to some of the wood prints we created with Jason Botkin (En Masse co-founder/co-director) for his upcoming solo show "ALL KIN" at the LNDMRK gallery in Montreal (550 Beaumont), January 29th 2013. 15 layers, 18 colors, wood-cutouts, all the time and tools of the Station16 shop for a day...
Botkin editions his work with the addition of “EV” denoting “Edition Variant”. This is used to signify that each piece within the edition, while being the same imagery and format, is not identical as with a typical edition. The edition varies from piece to piece with elements such as hand painting, and stenciling, thus each work is completely unique, while existing within the edition. A piece signed 2/50 EV signifies that while the work is unique, only 50 of it’s kind will ever be created.
