Station 16 Gallery is thrilled to present #ChaletLife, a solo exhibition by Montreal-based street artist Whatisadam highlighting a selection of classic WIA imagery and newly developed works on canvas in a cozy chalet setting. In this first ever solo exhibition at Station 16 Gallery, WIA takes over the space to recreate the artists love for winter activities and weekend chalet getaways in a way that is sure to delight new viewers and Whatisadam aficionados alike. The vernissage will be held during Nuit Blanche on March 3rd from 6:00 pm to 1:00 am at Station 16 Gallery and the exhibition will run until March 24th, 2018.

Montreal based artist Whatisadam, aka WIA, is one of the city’s best known urban artists. In addition to his wheat-paste and stencil artworks, Whatisadam has a diverse studio practice which includes working with silkscreen printing, large-scale murals, installation work, as well as a proclivity towards using found objects as his canvas. A prolific street artist and an avid world traveler, Whatisadam’s work can be found on the walls, streets and alleyways around the world as documented on his various social media platforms.

Infused with Canadian imagery, Whatisadam’s style is reminiscent of vintage comics and pop art. Depictions of North American wildlife and landscapes are common themes within his work, however, are always reimagined to feature elements of urban culture, as seen in his maple ‘sizzurp’ cans, tattooed ducks, and hockey hoodlums.
